My perpetual motion machines progressively evolved becoming more intricate and mechanical and ultimately growing into large industrial complexes, proud monuments to human achievement. What naturally flowed from the perpetual motion machine series was a consideration of the ongoing human endeavor to  “build a city and a tower whose top will reach into heaven” and to “make for ourselves a name” (Gen 11:4). And so was born the idea for my next series, modern day Towers of Babel.
